I have lots of interests, but never much time to pursue the ones that are
not Lizzie related. I'll continue to update list as I can.

Music
- I have always loved and collected music, from the time I was 4.
I have memories of BEGGING my mother to buy a 45 by some of the
members of the Jackson family (one hit wonder 'Hotline'), and
listening to all my parents albums probably more than they did.
I remember the words to most of the Jim Croce, Willie Nelson, and Neil
Diamond albums my father seemed to like best. Personally, I was
a Captain and Tennille fan... :) And the Eagles was another
favorite. I have a substantial cd collection, and some
old vinyl I could not bear to give up. I was definitely a child
of the 80's and early 90's dance club scene. That is what most
of my collection reflects. My tastes have mellowed out a little
in the last 7 years, but it's still eccentric. If you are
interested in what my favorites are,

days, I've been downloading a variety of music from Kazaa.
If I really like the music, I'll buy the cd. |

Movies
- I've always loved going to the movie theatre. I really like
independent films. I also gravitate towards suspense, Sc-Fi, and
dark comedies. To view a current list

Collectible Barbie and other dolls
- I played with them for hours when I was a child. I started
collecting Barbie and Disney dolls for Lizzie to display in her room
when she was three. But at the ripe age of six, Liz informed me
that Barbie is not her thing (Bratz are so much cooler). Now I
collect the ones I like. For Christmas, I got Cat Woman, The
Evil Queen from Snow White, an Arwen doll, and the Arwen/Aragorn
Return of the King set. |
 |
Costuming - I love to play dress
up! Renfaires and Dragon*Con give me the excuse to collect the
most outrageous clothing. My fav costumes so far is an Amy
Brown inspired faerie ensemble, and a Dark Phoenix outfit I'm
currently having made. |

Costume
and Antique Jewelry - I had two great aunts, twin sisters, Ima and
Uma, who owned a costume jewelry shop back in the 1920's and then back
again in the 1940's. When they closed shop, the remaining items
went to them, my great-grandmother, my grand-mother, my great aunt,
and then eventually to me. I was the only one who seemed to have
an interest in the gaudy crystal, magical clip-on earrings, bracelets,
and necklaces, not to forget the small purses designed to hold coins
no longer in circulation. I managed to retained most of my
collectibles when I moved from Houston. But I wore them quite a
bit when I went out, just cause they were SO different. I can
see where that was a mistake now cause some of my favorite pieces have
been damaged. I keep this jewelry, rather valuable or not, in a
safe place, cause they have sentimental value to me more than
anything. |

Firefly - Another really good Sci-Fi
series that was cancelled way before it's time. The movie was a
great way to tie up the loose ends, but I hated to see some of crew die. |
 |
TY stuffed animals - A
friend of my mother's gave me a 'Lizzy the Lizard' TY beanie
baby as a congratulations and good will present when Lizzie was born.
That got me hooked for a couple of years on collecting them. I
was buying all the new beanie babies as they came out, and then
located a couple of boutiques that sold hard to find or discontinued
beanies. Now, I mainly collect the mid sized beanie buddies or
beanie classics, mostly just the cats. I do have 'Lefty the
Donkey', cause I lean towards a little more on the liberal side of
society. You ask, where are all those beanie babies you
collected? Well half are in a black plastic back and the
other half are in a plastic container, stored in my closet. |

Battle Star Galactica - The Sci-Fi
channel really hit the head on the nail with this show. I was very
hestitant to watch this series because of the changes they had made from
the original (Starbuck is a GIRL). BUT, they have done an excellent
job retelling the story and making it their own. |
