Hi. My Name is Laurie. Welcome to my Web site!
This site is dedicated to my beautiful daughter Lizzie. She is my light, my hope, my inspiration, and the joy in my life. She is the most beautiful gift that God could ever give me. I am so happy to be a mother. I will always cherish the moments we had together and still will have in the future.
I like using this forum to
keep friends, family, and others up to date on my life and the busy life of my beautiful little girl.
This platform also serves as a training ground for me to learn more about
web development. I hope you like what I've done thus far.

Basic Facts
I'm 36 and have a wonderful family which
includes my little girl
Lizzie who is 8 and my Husband Tillman. I work in the Information Systems field. Mainly
my work experience involves analysis and programming on a variety of
systems, focusing on accounting functions, inventory, sales order,
and purchasing. The last 3 years I've been working with JD Edwards Enterprise One.

My Hobbies & Interests
Ha! What hobbies... I spend the
majority of my time working, taking Liz to after school
activities, and household affairs. There is little time for
much else. However, I do try to carve out time for my hubby, costuming,
festivals, Dragon*Con, movies, music and working out.

My Online Life
I spend a good deal of time on the
JDELIST message board. How bout
you?
I'm almost always connected, doesn't
mean that I'm necessarily at the PC though. I use AIM as a
communications tool at work, and as a way to talk to my brothers,
other family, and friends online. Yahoo is cool too cause you can
play tic-tac-toe with your partner-in-crime while chatting. :)
I also like to research various points of interests on the
internet, and I like shopping on-line as well.

Because she is a plant-evolved being, and cause she's blue. |

What I've learned about me, the
deep stuff...
Just in case you want to know more
about me, here are 5 qualities that describe me best...
Strong willed - From very early on, I can remember being
very stubborn about having my way, or getting what I want. I
try to be more selective in the battles I choose these days.
But I do have a hard time letting some things go, especially if it
involves my overall concept of what is right and wrong.
Intelligent - I learned to read and write before my
kindergarten year. I learned the continents and the names of
all the presidents and states before 1st grade. Math has
always come easy to me, and I prefer programming computers to interacting
with people. Most that come in contact with me
professionally are impressed by my ability to analyze and solve
problems. However, I've also been told that my abilities to
resolve complex issues at work is balanced by my lack of common
sense in the every day people world. Go figure...
Rebellious - Whatever my parents, teachers, or peers
wanted me to do, I tended to do the opposite. Now that I'm
in my 30's and have a child, I keep this tendency to myself and
try to go along with the norms, rather than fight them. But
it is soooo hard sometimes, ya know?
Competitive - I'm not athletically competitive, but I
was extremely competitive intellectually in school until I
graduated university. In some ways, this has spilled over
into my professional life... but I try to keep it at bay.
Mainly, I'm only competitive with people whom I can't learn
anything new from.
Empathetic - My heart goes out to
almost anyone who has
trouble in their lives, or who are dealing with hard to handle
situations.
Bad things happen to good people ALL the time. I know what it's like to feel low, and I like to help people feel
better. This is why I donate to the Humane Society,
Salvation Army, and United Way every year. I think this is
the part of me that tends to cry in the movie theatre.
